How Miranda Kerr Stays Fit

Have you ever wondered how Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr stays so fit and trim? I did, so I did some research into it and found some answers.
According to her trainer (Justin Gelband), Miranda and the other VS models work out 3 to 4 times per week for 75 minutes at a time. They spend 30 minutes on their legs, 30 on their core, arms and balance, and 15 minutes on stretching.
A typical gym workout for Miranda is first 5-10 minutes warming up, then she goes for a 5 kilometer run with her trainer. Back at the gym, they do a combination of boxing, resistor balls, and weight work for her legs. She does leg presses, calf raises and leg extension exercises to keep her legs long and lean-looking.
“One of my proudest moments was seeing recent photos of Miranda and how strong her body looked. She couldn’t wait to walk the runway and show the world that being lean, toned and fit is something you can be, without having to be skinny and anorexic.” But does she ever have a fat day? “Of course, we all have them,” Miranda admits. “I have days where I feel bloated, especially when I get off a plane, but a good night’s sleep really helps. If I sleep, then go for a run, I always feel better.”
As for diet, Miranda’s trainer encourages her to eat a lot of healthy carbohydrates and lean protein for breakfast - foods like old-fashioned oatmeal, egg whites, veggies, cottage cheese, muesli, yogurt and fruit. Then it’s salads and chicken or fish for lunch, and a combination of fish, turkey, veggies and chicken for dinner.
It all sounds pretty healthy to me… what do you all think?

Although I think a lot of people work out that much and eat that healthy - and they will never look like her (me included!). Genetics has SO much to do with it. She’s just a lucky girl.

christinaberry, you are so right. Millions of women eat even healthier and work out so much harder and do not look half as good as Miranda does. She can be so lucky with her body. I think her face is much prettier than Giseles. does anybody know Mirandas weight ?

Finally a skinny celebrity that doesn’t “do yoga and walk the dog” to stay fit!
so a typical workout is the 5k run the boxing and leg work. then she also does 3x a week of wt training for 75 minutes.
I think thats a great combo. i think an hour of weight training 3-4x a week. with cardio 6-7 days a week for an hour or more is great. So she is definitely working to keep her body looking thin.

yah i truly believe that all the VS models do eat healthy and not starve themselves. They are also very fit. This post gives me lots of modivation.

Now don’t start screaming at me for saying this, BUT, there is something that is a bit “off” on her upper thighs in the bathing suit pic. She is by no means big but looks a little disproportionate to her upper body. HOWEVER, with that being said, I would still trade my body for hers any day. She is gorgeous.

I wish I had 75 minutes for 4 days a week to excercise!!! I can barely fir in 20 minutes for 4 days a week and my kids go ballistic during these 20 minutes !!!! Pay for my day care give me the 75 minutes/ 4 days a week and I’ll have a body that’ll kick her body’s ass off

Genetics play a huge part of how great her body is.
I work out 5 times a week and eat a very similar diet, but still look more lauren conrad than miranda kerr.

some ana’s eat 300-700 cals a day averaging about 500 and still maintain a bmi way under 17.5

Miranda Kerr actually looks TONED now that you say it… I mean, she looks like she’s naturally skinny but it also looks like she’s going to lengths to maintain her skinny physique, which is a nice change to the emaciated, malnourished look other celebs are sporting these days.

so in other words, the secret to a good body is eating healthy (key: not a lot of junk food) and exercise? you dont say…i never would have guessed it.
I’m really not into model body’s, but she does look really healthy. In the swimsuit photo, her upper body look too scrawny and her legs look oddly shaped. She still looks beautiful, but I’m not a fan of her shape.
She is hot hot HOT but — Sorry– she is also a little too skinny. If women don’t consider her skinny, that I don’t want to see what they think it is, cause her wrists are like knobs. That said, she is one beautiful creature and her face is gorgeous. Women are too hard on themselves. Take it from a guy: we like it when you enjoy life, not hide from it! (P.S. My sister loves your website, and is constantly asking me if I think so-and-so is skinny, and the answer is usually YES!)
I like that she does a real workout. You can tell she takes care of herself well. She is very beautiful and her body is amazing.

oh wow the previous post - i guessed her weight due to te fact i was the same height.. i can’t be an accurate judge even though we are the same height her body is so different frommine, her upper body is so small. i would not be a good judge.

she’s a model though. they’re like literal clothes hangers. although, her body looks really really toned and not as anorexic as most models look. her diet sounds really healthy and fine with me, even if it’s probably barely a 1,000 calories in one day.
cotton i try to do yoga at least three times a week. it actually helps increase arm strength for me. also teaches how to breathe which would be helpful in terms of exercising at the gym if you start, keeps up your stamina.
I definitely agree she looks absolutely fabulous and fit. However, the million dollar question is: will she still maintain her slimness 10-15 years from now? E.g. Heidi Klum (Let’s not forget the woman has had more than a couple of tots under her belt!)
Oh please stop bashing yoga, depending on the type of yoga you do you can build an incredible body combined with diet. I do ashtanga, and believe me, that is not “relaxing” nor “easy”. it’s hot, it’s sweaty, can help you lose excess weight and get wayyyyyyyyyyyy toned!

She is beautiful, as everyone knows… blah blah, nothing new. Although, I agree she does look like she restricts calorie intake, but not to the point of malnutrition like many ana models out there.
REQUEST: Jennifer Aniston - she has the BEST body and has done a great job at staying consistant instead of the ups and downs.

you know, the first time I saw her, I thought her face was a little odd too. There was just something off about it, but as I’ve been seeing her more and more, she’s actually started to grow on me. I wouldn’t neccessarily say her face is gorgeous, but I would say it is absolutely adorable (i think it might be a little too round for my liking- bone structure wise, not in a chubby way). Her body is just perfect. She’s very toned and slim and that is my ideal body. I’m really not a fan of the skin and bones look. And I think the reason why her leg might look weird is because she’s in mid step…

wow she looks GORGEOUS!!! of course genetics always play a big role but it shows that she works hard to keep that body, just as she says. they should only promote this kind of model/figure and not the anorexic’s, it’s much more beautiful and healthy.

Miranda said on an Australian interview here that she definately eats and the media made a huge fuss over the fact that recently she had a four course lunch.
I think she’s adorable and has a killer body, but perhaps her facial features aren’t quite strong enough.

i hate to be a downer .. but i think it is genetics a person can’t get those legs (length) by healthy eating and exercise you also are not going to have her measurements so most people wont look like this just thru diet and exercise-
for some people may have the same weight or similar maybe their hips are more narrow or their chest is bigger something will be different so the average person will not look this good even at the same weight/height.
not to mention some people do need to be more restrictive to be thin like her

Becky Bloomwood, are you serious? She smokes Jennifer Hawkins. I can’t stand Jennifer Hawkins with her gross streaky hair and boring face. Miranda walks all over her!
Thats not the types of foods she eats or her workout. Im a big fan so I look around alot on her official website/forum and youtubes and what not and alot of her fans in her forum ask her what her diet is like because she is very open that she has studied nutrition in the past and is also writing a book about nutrition and spirituality. She says she stays away from gluten and has sourdough rye bread in the morning with avocado and tomato or vegemite, plus some fruit and herbal tea. Snacks on almonds, seeds and fruit and has a tuna salad for lunch. This was put on her blog for the Portmans official site awhile ago when she was their spokesperson but im pretty sure they have taken it down now and I cant remember what was dinner lol.
Anyway yeah.

she looks naturally thin because she IS naturally thin. If she didnt excercise and ate crap, she wouldnt be much bigger than this. she’d be a lot less toned.
I could do everything she’s doing until the cows come home and i’d still be much wider than her. GENETICS and bone structure play a very large part in how lean you can be.

5′9″ and 115 lbs is a BMI of 17 - that’s not healthy nor is it athletic. And if you’re not naturally thin, you’re never going to realistically achieve that. Maybe people should be more worried about how strong their bodies are vs how they look in an ugly dress.

She is fab looking…slender yet muscular. I’m also very happy to hear that she works HARD to look this good and doesn’t “fit yoga and pilates in when she can”. She is a very successful model but she is NOT considered high fashion…no where in the list of accomplishments posted above did I see any of the couture fashion houses. She is beautiful but she is much more the VS model type and has yet to cross over to high fashion like Gisele did.

I have a three year old and a two year old.if some 1 gave me a trainer, nutritionist and a nanny I could look like that. she’s a real beauty.
I think she’s tall, and as skinny as she needs to be to do her job as a model.
I notice that while her healthy diet is talked about, there was no mention of quantities.
A tablespoon of oatmeal for breakfast, a cubic centimetre of chicken with a salad for lunch and a plate of vegetables for dinner will keep you thin.

AH. Jen Hawkins is totally average compared to Miranda. She’s just a typical newcastle ‘townie’ (yuck) with some overworked PRs, stylists and makeup artists imo. Before she won miss universe/world/whatever she was just a troll cheerleader with a crappy modeling agency representing her. Miranda is infinitely hotter.

“a lot of healthy carbohydrates”…LMAO. This woman isn’t eating a lot of ANYTHING. The workout routine sounds much like that of your average woman….it’s the lack of food (& youth) that allows for that body. She looks good, I think she’s a little too thin though.
Couldn’t agree more with the people who’ve stressed the importance of genetics. I’m not overly skinny, but for the amount of calories I stuff my face with every day (hey, I don’t drink , I don’t smoke - gotta have one bad habit), I guess I could be bigger. And then I see how little one of my girlfriends is eating and she’s chubby and I just don’t get it. I think it’s really unfair to bigger people to be on a diet for the rest of their lives and still never be skinny. We should aknowledge that we’re all built differently and stop comparing our diets. Life’s too short.

Wow 5 km. run 4 times a week is hard! I can only do 3 kms. 3 times a week and I have to drag my ass everytime! My trainer is my enemy!

That diet and (very difficult) excercise plan sounds pretty good to me but looking at the pics i’d expect her to be a bit fuller.
